MUSIC DEPARTMENT PERFORMANCES - 2011-2012

Sept. 30, 6:00PM, Jazz Ensembles, Figiulo Recital Hall $
The 18 piece Jazz Ensemble and smaller Jazz Combo will highlight great jazz standards, ballads and works by contemporary jazz composers including director, Dr. John Paulson who is in his 30th year teaching at Saint Mary’s. A reception will follow in the Toner Center Lounge.

Oct. 1, 2:00PM, Choirs Concert & Band Concert, Page Theatre $
The Concert Band will perform Gustav Holst’s famous “First Suite in Eb for Military Band,” as well as a medley of show-tune favorites, while the choirs will perform works from their repertoire.

Dec. 4, 3:00PM, Chamber Ensemble Recital, Figiulo Recital Hall

Dec. 9, 7:30PM, Jazz Ensembles, Page Theatre $
The World Drum Ensemble will perform works from Africa and South America. The Jazz groups will feature jazz arrangements from the classic repertoire as well as contemporary composers.

Join us for this joyous holiday tradition of the telling of the story of Christmas in song.

This concert will feature many of the holiday favorites for everyone in the family. Join us for our Lobby Party Cookie reception in the Ben Miller Lobby after the concert where small ensembles will entertain.
