Performance Center

The Performance Center is a 142,000-square-foot performing arts facility built in 1987. The facility is perhaps best known for The Mediatrix, the largest of three stunning frescoes in Ben Miller Lobby.

The largest of the facility’s performance spaces is Page Theatre. The 455-seat proscenium offers close-up, intimate experiences with artists and excellent views of the stage from every seat.

The Performance Center also houses the 116-seat Figliulo Recital Hall, and the Studio Theatre, a black box theatre with adjustable seating capacity.

The Performance Center hosts and presents more than 50 public performances and arts education events a year.

Volunteers
Thrilled by theatre? Moved by music? Dazzled by dance? The Performance Center is always looking for friendly volunteers to serve as ushers. Ushers get to see performances for free in exchange for their valuable service. Volunteers must be available up to one hour in advance of a performance, be at least 16 years old, have the ability to climb stairs, and wear black slacks or a black skirt and a white, collared shirt. Corporate, non-profit or service organization groups of eight people may volunteer for one performance and receive recognition in the event program. These groups also have the option of dressing to the Performance Center usher requirements or wearing company-identifying apparel. Please contact Jennifer Fanello, box office manager, at (507) 457-1716 or jfanello@smumn.edu.
